Paul Hait, the inventor
of the Pyromid® stove, developed the technology over the past
23 years. The technology has been implemented in stoves from 6"
across to full size camp kitchens capable of cooking for large gatherings.
It has been demonstrated and proved in many settings throughout the
world; the technology has been recognized in the outdoor stove industry
as a superior method of burning natural fuels.
Pyromid® System
Stoves are universal fuel appliances. They can utilize any bio mass
fuel such as sticks, twigs, charcoal, or alcohol, and do not require
any propane, butane or other petrofuel. There are two configurations
in which the stove can cook food. When using the grill, a fuel is
selected which will not impart an unpalatable flavor to the food,
as the gases from the burning fuel come in direct contact with the
food. Charcoal, mesquite, hickory, applewood, and other fuels that
impart desirable flavors are good choices for the Pyromid® when
food is prepared by direct grilling. It is important to allow any
fuel to burn until the gases that could impart undesirable flavors
burn off before cooking food directly on the grill. The second configuration
uses the PyroGriddle or a pot set on the grill. In this configuration,
fuels such as dried dung patties, brown coal, bitter flavored woods
and other fuels can be used, as the food is not in direct contact
with the gases produced by the burning fuel. Gelled alcohol fuels,
petro-fuels, and other processed fuels can be used when the stove
is set up in this way; the stove is a true universal fuel appliance.
Pyromid® System
Products were originally developed for the outdoor enthusiast, recreation
and the emergency preparedness markets.
